10-5 Bulletin

IT’S TIME FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL!

Come join us each Sunday at 9:15!  – a new Sunday School year has just begun!  Take part in learning about being Children of God and following Jesus!   All are welcome!  Nursery through grade 6 are all located on the lower level of the educational wing.  Grades 7-12 are in a temporary arrangement on the top floor of the educational building. The adult class is located across the hall from the church offices.

Open Youth Room – each Wednesday night from 6:00-7:30 p.m.!  Rex and Sarah Sullivan are the chaperones but welcome more parents!   All ages of youth are welcome! (Preschoolers are welcome if their parents are chaperoning their older youth.)   Also, a supervised young children’s play group will be held in the room under the sanctuary from 6:00-7:20 p.m. each Wednesday.

CROP WALK – begin the walk right here at Good Hope at 2:00 p.m. today!     Get a sponsor – you do the walking – raise funds for World Hunger!   A special family event will follow the October 5 CROP WALK!   When everyone is finished walking for world hunger, participants will meet back at the church for a fun food related activity at 3:30 p.m.  This activity is designed for those nursery age youth through grade 6 and their families, but ALL are welcome!

The Good Hope Christian Preschool Board will NOT meet in October.

The Sunshine Choir will NOT have practice this Wednesday, October 8.

All Men are invited to the Lutheran Men in Mission gathering next Sunday, October 12, from 2-4 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Marion.  Special speaker will be Pat Street from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  There will be Bible study – a freewill offering – and refreshments.  Call Rod Streib if you want to go!

The Outreach Committee is sponsoring a pantry drive through October to help fill the pantry at the local Salvation Army.  Canned or boxed food items and boxes of powdered milk are needed as well as toilet tissue, diapers, and personal hygiene items.  If you could help by bringing an item or two, it would be greatly appreciated!  Bring the items to the church and place them in the container in the hall by Friday, October 31.  Thank you!

The Youth Committee would like the names of those youth participating in fall sports programs, those who play in the bands, cheerleaders, etc.  This includes elementary students playing at the Y or on traveling teams.  Needed is the youth’s name, sport or band instrument, school or sponsoring unit, and team name.  Give this information to the church office!
